Juozas domarkas biography
Juozas Domarkas is a Lithuanian musician, music teacher and conductor, and a professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.!
It has been over 40 years since Juozas Domarkas has become the artistic director and principal conductor of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.
He has also been working in education: he is Professor and the Head of the Conducting Department of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
Juozas Domarkas was born on July 28, 1936, in Varkaliai (Plungė district).
In 1955–60 he studied clarinet at the Lithuanian Conservatoire (present LAMT) under J. Jasenka. In 1965 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatoire (conducting under I. Musin). In 1963 the young conductor attended training courses run by the French conductor I.
